Unlike a computer, WebTV only has one basic font. But we're not as limited as one might think, because we've got some totally cool text effects that computer users don't have at all!
Beyond our basic font, we also have a "monospaced" font.
This is an example of it.
It's the font that you will get if you use the <tt>teletype</tt> tags,
the <samp>sample </samp> tags, or the <pre>preformatted</pre> tags. This font can be used in bold and also in italic.

Another useful modification is the <BLACKFACE> tag. Use if just like the bold tag for a "double-bold" effect that's great for titles. We're using it at the top of this page, and WebTV Networks uses it throughout the "Home" screens.
By using the attribute <font effect=shadow>, you get a small dark dropshadow to the lower right of the font character, as in the title above. Remember that you can combine other attributes like color and size in the font tag, yielding a lots of possibilities.
The attribute <font effect=emboss> is a lot like the shadow, except that the dropshadow falls to the upper left. There also is a soft white highlight in the inside right of the text.
The <font effect=relief> attribute puts a highlight to the left and a shadow to the right, making it stand out from the background.
The actual effect you see with these text effects depends on the color of the text and the color of the background.

So, you think that's all? I beg to differ... because these effects can be combined with blackface, cool colors, and transparency factors to achieve effects that computer users can only wish for! These are all the special font tags, but what you can achieve with them is limited only by your imagination. Enjoy!
